Imagine you're watching the Super Bowl, and right after the game-winning touchdown pass the TV announcer says you can win that ball if you're the first to tweet a long hashtag right now. That's exactly what we did during The Daytona 500 (which is known as the "Super Bowl of Motorsports"). We launched a different Twitter race every 20 laps, and let hundreds of thousands of fans race for a piece of Chase Elliott's car after he wrecked, Kyle Busch's tires right after a pit stop, and Jimmie Johnson's steering wheel, plus helmets, gloves, the checkered flag, and other sweet NASCAR stuff.

The new Fiat 500x is a bigger, stronger version of the original Fiat 500. For the vehicle's launch and on the heels of massive workout sensations like “Insanity” and “P90x” we created created our own workout sensation: “F500x”.  Hosted by a crazy Italian character called Lorenzo and featuring a lineup of beautiful athletes, and Lou Ferrigno, we spoofed the workout industry by creating a workout using the 500x vehicle as a must-have piece of exercise equipment that can make you bigger and stronger. 

OTA Insight rebranded to Lighthouse and needed a new look to standout in the travel & hospitality industry.

The logo is a visual cue of the Lighthouse brand story. The data stream icon is made up of three shapes designed to symbolize a change in perspective through light refracting off of a surface and a continuous flow of data. The logotype is set in lowercase for an approachable modern feel.

Gradients represent light rays and therefore show the general direction of light or light reflection. This effect is created using radial gradients or constructed using circles in solid colors with a layer blur effect applied.

Part of the "Perrier Extraordinaire" campaign, we were tasked with launching Perrier Flavors in the US. The idea was based on the notion that cracking open a can of fruit flavored Perrier can inspire the extraordinary.  So we decided to partner with extraordinary talents, like street artist AKA Corleone, to see what happens when extraordinary bubbles and flavor combine with extraordinary talent.

Introducing the “One Armed Hoodie,” inspired by triple amputee veteran and Pro Staffer, Nick Kimmel. I designed this custom, technical golf hoodie in partnership with Mr. Ma Golf to garner maximum attention both on and off the course as a sign of fellowship and support for all veteran, amputee golfers. It will allow you to show solidarity with, and raise money for, those who play the game despite having lost one or more limbs in service of our country.

The Mission: Over 1000 hours of new music are uploaded to the internet daily, making it harder for people like legendary music producer Alex da Kid to find new talent to create hit singles. Our mission was to harness the power of A.I. to help music producers like Alex speed up the process of artist discovery.

The solution: We partnered with Spotify & Alex Da Kid to reinvent the process. Working with IBM’s powerful developers and Spotify’s brilliant data scientists, we designed a revolutionary new tool, powered by IBM Watson Artificial Intelligence. The A.I. was built to understand what qualities Alex was looking for in a new artist to create a hit single. The A.I. tool made it possible to enter the mind of a legendary music producer. Watson learned to connect to emotional language over the course of working with Alex and searched through two million artists on Spotify, thousands of sub genres, artist personalities, and music blogs to identify the ideal candidate to feature in the song. In the end, A&R met A.I. and for the first time ever, the perfect music artist was discovered for a hit single the help of A.I.

Charles Schwab has built a brand celebrating those who challenge the status quo. For their first year as a PGA Tour title sponsor, we transformed the tour's most historic tournament at colonial country club by creating a new tradition unlike anything the golf world had seen. We introduced American muscle into the game with a one-of-a-kind grand prize for the winner of the tournament. It started with a custom 1973 Dodge Challenger built as a nod to the company's founding year. Next we flipped a Firebird, and then a power wagon, and so on and so on.

As a result, the tournament saw a massive uptick in TV ratings, over 100MM digital impressions, the cars have has countless broadcast mentions and are are always the lead on Sportscenter. The challenger was so popular, we even made matchbox miniatures for PGA players to take home.

A filmed social experiment designed to explore the effectiveness of different ways of using technology in the classroom.

THE PROBLEM

COVID lockdowns and at home learning during the pandemic created a gap in student / teacher participation. "Learning Loss" become a real threat.

THE INSIGHT

Newsela helps teachers create an interactive classroom as students returned to school.

THE IDEA

In our initial research, we found that the Newsela audience loves social experiments as a genre — a great way to give compelling evidence that Newsela is a superior product for teachers. To illustrate what learning with Newsela looks like, we filmed a real experiment. Two groups of students were separated into two very different learning environments. One was taught via a skill-and-drill program; the other, an informed debate powered by Newsela.

Qualcomm's primary customers aren't people, they're mobile handset manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Apple. But they still wanted tech savvy users in China and America (their 2 biggest markets) to know about the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor powering their phone's most important functions. The brief was for a product demo. We disguised it as a 30-minute thriller written and directed by Oscar-winner Armando Bo (Birdman), and starring Wang Leehom, one of China's biggest pop stars, and Olivia Munn (because who doesn't love Olivia Munn).

The Challenge: 

How do you make billions upon billions of diverse transactions tangible for Visa’s vast array of clients, let alone give prospects a reason to partner with Visa Direct?

The Solution: 

Our concept was to blend the business and technology of money movement, with the real human stories behind these transactions, in a compelling and digestible, 12-part podcast series, that even the busiest executive could benefit from.

The Podcast:

Introducing, "Money Travels," an audio travel guide to global money movement and the human needs it fulfills around the world. Hosted by Award-winning Podcaster, Author and Neuroscientst: Indre Viskontas, the podcast follows money as it zips around the world, helping us to survive and thrive. Alongside real human stories, “Money Travels” gets specific for our B2B audience, as experts from Visa and its partners discuss the tools that will transform the next generation of money movement. Episodes explore topics like remittances, paying gig workers, connecting digital wallets, fighting digital fraud and more while weaving in the voices of real people who are impacted.

Data showed us that Visa’s audience not only liked podcasts but also rated ‘explainer videos’ as one of their favorite genres. As such, a deep dive into how money travels made sense.

I produced this video in for DDB LA while at Partizan for non-profit, environmental group: Heal The Bay, to help pass a bill that would ban plastic bags in California statewide. The video, narrated by Jeremy Irons, shows the life cycle of the plastic bag, from grocery store to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Launched on Youtube with zero media, this short film for Heal the Bay made the front page of Huff Post, Creativity-online, among many others, was featured on television news shows, radio shows, and most importantly reached the offices of the governor and his cabinet. Single-use plastic bag bans have now been passed in cities across the country.

A new brand identity for Drift, a real-time green energy retailer, including a logo, tagline, and design system with custom editorial illustrations. The brand idea is focused around creating and visualizing a world that runs on 100% green energy, every hour of the day, 365 days of the year, rain or shine, day or night. Drift's energy supply is sourced 100% from nature, so naturally, we worked to illustrate just that. Businesses can run on sunshine, wind and water, and Drift makes it possible.

Brand Activation:

RECs (Renewable Energy Certificate) are receipts of renewable energy created in the past and then sold to companies as a way for them to offset their carbon footprint. It’s like offering someone day old coffee for the same price as freshly brewed. Doesn’t make much sense does it?

So we brought RECs to life in a way that was easily digestible to all by creating our very own REC (Renewable Energy Coffee cart ) and gave 500 people a choice–fresh coffee or stale coffee brewed 5 days ago?

Interactive Installation:

To increase education of unique energy solutions, we brought green energy to life at the REBA (Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance) conference. We designed an interactive, large-scale LED installation leveraging Kinect motion technology that allowed attendees to discover Drift’s 100% green and instantaneous energy offerings. Through motion, attendees were empowered to animate an electron representing wind, solar or hydro clean energy sources. An adjoining digital touch screen experience gave guests control of the electron as they watched it react with intense, dynamic particle effects.

We created the first ever, real-time reality show to take place on social media. Turning the traditional model of the reality show on its head, @SummerBreak pioneered a new way of telling stories across social media platforms that was data driven, exciting and immersive. Inviting our target audience into the lives of eight high-school kids as they lived as they lived their last summer before college, @SB gave fans direct access to the cast and the drama in real-time, as it happened. @SB created complementary homes on Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube and Instagram- making the experience both ubiquitous and unique to each follower. With over 10 million user engagements that influenced the show in real-time, the fans felt a part of @SummerBreak. And they were. @SB was a first-of-its-kind mobile first entertainment experience that the Millennial generation adopted as their own. The format was such a success, that it's now in it's fifth season.

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is the third largest killer in America behind Cancer and Heart Disease, but hardly anyone talks about it. It affects 24 million people, doesn’t have a cure, and makes sufferers feel like they’re breathing through a straw. 

Leonard Nimoy died of COPD in 2015, and devoted the last year of his life to raising awareness for the disease. For World COPD Day 2016, we worked with some of his celebrity friends and the internet at large to help complete Leonard's final mission: raising awareness for COPD. We received user generated content from dozens of influencers (many unpaid) and hundreds of fans, receiving 9MM impressions at launch and pushing COPD to trending status online. 

Change. Perhaps the scariest and most exciting word in the English language. It conjures up images of fear, darkness, uncertainty, heartbreak, regret and painful choices. But it also evokes feelings of joy, lightness, purpose, new love, optimism and inspiration. Change is hard. So why do we seek change?

Instead of filming typical testimonials or literal interpretations, we worked with a group of Vimeo filmmakers to create a series of short films about leaving something or someone and the positive outcomes that resulted.

The final product: A series of films about positive change entitled “Why I left” that broke the mold of what a financial services company usually talks about and how they talk about it.

The videos collectively earned more than two million views, reaching a large and more diverse audience than Charles Schwab had ever reached before and fueling a conversation about how to 'Own Your Tomorrow'.

I produced this music video for French artist Yuksek, in partnership with directing collective, "Skinny" and Partizan LA. The video was shot in one day, in the desert outskirts of LA and features a vicious posse, as they let loose, leaving a path of awesome destruction in their wake.

Fiat's range of colors is one of the things that makes the brand so unique and beloved. So they wanted to showcase their color options in a fun, visual way on Instagram. Delizioso.

Remember Vine? It’s throwback time.

Chrysler wanted to talk to millennials about the all-new model 200. Instead of just showing the usual boring and dry brochures online as a way to speak to the many new features, we suggested bringing them to life with the most creative vine makers with the greatest reach.

As VINE and Instagram videos were measured in seconds, it seemed fitting to deliver all the attributes of the Chrysler 200, in 200 seconds. Within a month, Chrysler went from zero to over 6,000 followers on VINE, with the videos clocking up over 12MM loops.

We made Chrysler the number one auto brand on Vine.
